We are
located west of Caroline, south-west of Rocky Mountain House in
beautiful Alberta, Canada. Our base camp is just minutes
north of
Peppers Lake along Highway #734, between Calgary and Nordegg.
Spend your time on a
getaway on horseback in the spectacular landscapes of West/Central
Alberta in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. Whether you’re an
experienced horseman or a first time rider, our horses are ready and
capable of packing you and your gear safely to our camping
destinations. A 3, 5 or 7 day pack trip with Packing In Paradise is
not only a great way to reconnect with family and friends, it can be
a wonderful learning experience. You have a choice of truly being part
of the cowboy way of life by helping set up a wilderness camp, cook
meals & help care for the horses, or you can choose to just relax
while our guides prepare wonderful meals, tend camp and wrangle
horses for you.
We think riding horseback
provides the very best views of this area, alpine meadows, clear
blue alpine lakes, many creeks and rivers, bench-lands, canyons,
breath-taking falls and many trails, beneath the rugged peaks of the
Rockies. If you and your party are interested in fly fishing, we
will design your vacation adventure so we camp close to rivers and streams full of fish.
Also the high
mountain lakes that are scattered throughout the wilderness present
spin fishing and swimming opportunities.
Camp sites are located in
the high country, some giving you clear views of the nearby mountain
range where the Big Horn Sheep roam. Spend your days hiking,
exploring or horseback riding, we tailor our pack trips to your
requirements. Whatever you choose to do the adventures never end. With the abundance of wildlife, it’s not uncommon to see wild
horses, fox, coyotes, wolves, elk, sheep, deer, moose and even an
occasional grizzly bear or cougar, so make sure you bring your
camera! At the end of the day, after delicious meals & chores are
done, after stories are told around the evening camp fire, you’ll
fall asleep in the large tents provided for your comfort. We can
accommodate up to 8 people per trip, and families and kids over 8
are welcome!
