Our camp is located along Highway 734, west of Caroline & south-west
of Rocky
Mountain House.
Via Highway #752 from Rocky Mountain House:
When traveling south of Rocky Mountain House on
Highway #22, turn west to Highway #752, there is a sign “To
752” and also signs for “Old Town Cottages”
and “Grandview Stage”.
At the T-
intersection, turn left and follow Highway #752 (it does turn west
in a few km)
and eventually, after about 40 km) the pavement ends and turns into well cared for
gravel, indicating you are getting closer!
After 58 kilometers (36 miles) from Rocky, this highway
T-intersects with Highway #734 (also known as the Forestry Trunk
Road) between Calgary and Nordegg. Turn
right (north) towards Nordegg.
From here it is approximately 20 minutes to
our camp site, just 7.5 kilometers past Peppers Lake.
Watch for a sign "Rocky Mountain Memories" on the left hand side
of the road.
Please note your GPS or compass may show
you're travelling west but as long as you're on the road you're
doing ok!
Via Corkscrew Mountain from Caroline:
When traveling west of Caroline on Highway #22, you can also choose
the route over
Corkscrew Mountain. Highway #22 turns north to Rocky
Mountain House but continue straight west instead on Highway
#591 which eventually runs right into Highway #734. Go
north on #734 toward Nordegg. This route offers beautiful scenic views but the ride
may be rough so could be a problem for trailers after heavy
rain.
Following this route you will also pass the
intersection of Highway #752, just keep traveling north toward
Nordegg.
From the intersection at #752 it is approximately 20
minutes to our camp site, just 7.5 kilometers past Peppers Lake.
Watch for a sign "Rocky Mountain Memories" on the left hand side
of the road.
Please note your GPS or compass may show
you're travelling west but as long as you're on the road you're
doing ok!
Via Nordegg:
Approximately 3 kilometers west on Highway #11
from Nordegg is the "Forestry Trunk Road" or Highway #734.
Turn left (south) and stay on the road past Ram Falls. The
camp is on the right hand side of the road, several kilometers
further on. Watch for a sign "Rocky Mountain Memories" on
the right hand side of the road. The road is well
maintained gravel but is very hilly and windy and often with
lots of wildlife!
Tips:
Better top up that fuel tank, as the closest
service stations are in Rocky Mountain House and Nordegg.
Be safe! Please drive carefully, as wild horses,
cows, deer, elk and other wildlife may cross your path.
